2007 Result

This was a victory for the filly's, when Rags To Riches the 2007 Kentucky Oaks winner, took on the 2007 Preakness Stakes winner, Curlin and five other colts and beat them in front of what had been a disappointing turn out of less than 50,000 fans at Belmont Park.

Rags To Riches was in fact sent off second favourite behind Curlin and as it turned out the bookmakers were right as it was these two who fought a fantastic finish with the filly just getting her head in front at the post.

The two finished five lengths clear of the third horse Tiago with Hard Spun who had been placed in both the Preakness Stakes and the Kentucky Derby a further five lenghts back in fourth.
